Chappell
Booie
is a member of the
educational staff at
Drayton Hall Plantation
in Charleston, South
Carolina where she
conducts tours.
Drayton Hall
is a property of the
National Trust for
Historic Preservation.
She received a
bachelor's degree in
early childhood
education from the
University of Maryland
and continued her
graduate work at Towson
State. Prior to moving
to Charleston, she
taught elementary
school. A member of the
South Carolina
Historical Society, the
Charleston Alumnae
Association of Kappa
Kappa Gamma, the
Preservation Society of
Charleston and the
National Historic
Preservation, she
combines her background
in elementary education
with her love of history
and interest in historic
Charleston to create her
books for children.
