About the author:
Wynness L. Thomas is a freelance writer who was a resident of Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina
for more than twenty-five years and knows much of its history. She is regularly
published
in the Sun News history column and her articles have appeared in other local
and state newspapers and regional and national magazines. She now lives in the
neighboring town of Conway.
About the illustrator:
Mardi McCabe lives in Myrtle Beach. She studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine
Art and
holds a BA in fine art from Coastal Carolina University of South Carolina at
Conway. Her
artwork has been exhibited in South Carolina since 1976.
