  Peter Meyer is a naturalist with an insatiable curiosity and natural affection for the environment. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in zoology from Miami (Ohio) University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Meyer subsequently received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Ohio State University, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (another academic honorary).

Dr. Peter Meyer is board-certified in the specialty of emergency medicine. He maintains a special interest in hazardous marine animals.
