The book includes memories of building the vacation cottage, Tuckem' Inn, in 1914, how it was then, how it grew and changed.  There are stories of traveling to the beach in a Model T Ford before there was a bridge across the Waccamaw River or a paved beach road, and stories about the days of the magnificent antebellum rice plantations that lined the river.  Also includes stories of striking for flounder or boat races or the first outdoor drama stage in 1915.
