 William Baldwin, a lifelong resident of McClellanville, South Carolina, has worked as a commercial fisherman, a building contractor, and a professional writer.  He has written and co-written over a dozen books all of which deal in some way with the Carolina Low Country. He is a winner of the Lillian Smith Award and the Dictionary of Literary Biography Yearbook Award and a finalist for the Southern Circle Critics Award.
